God Showed Him a Tree

"Exodus 15:25 So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet."

Exodus 15:22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea ; then they went out into the Wilderness of Shur. And they went three days in the wilderness and found no water.

Exodus 15:2 3 Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah.

Exodus 15:24 And the people complained against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?”

Exodus 15:25 So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them,

Exodus 15:26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

1 God reveals one of His covenant names which is Jehovah Rapha: I am the LORD that who heals you.

2 Marah means bitterness

It is easy to tell the difference between sweet and bitter: we generally like sweet things; they are pleasant. And we generally do not like things which are bitter; they are distatseful.

Bitterness can also refer to areas in our life that are painful, or are not what we would prefer. For example,

Hurt

Sickness

Betrayal

Disappointment

3 Have you came to a pool of bitterness in your life?

Is there an old flavour of bitterness which is still in your mouth from a bitter memory in your life?

Do you long for the sweetnees of God and the joy of the LORD to fill you with sweetness of heaven and make your bitter life sweet again?

4 There is goodnews for you; there is a remedy for you, as there was a remedy that day for Moses and the people.

This place was where God revealed one of His covenant names

The provision is exactly the same: it’s a tree.

1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness— by whose stripes you were healed.

Galatians 3 :1 3 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),

5 GOD wants to show you the tree, to see the finished work of the cross as it really is.

Ephesians 1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

6 Jesus spoke through Paul to the Galations

Galatians 3 :1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
